Board Members

By law, the majority of Board members must represent the private sector, with the balance of the board being composed of representatives from educational, rehabilitation, public assistance, economic development agencies, community-based organizations, organized labor and the employment service. The DavidsonWorks Board was established by the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 and is a consortium agreement with the County of Davidson. Board members can serve 1 year, 2 year, or 3 year terms and are appointed by Davidson County Commissioners. Our governing board ensures DavidsonWorks provides a strong network of programs and services that offer Davidson area businesses opportunities for growth and valuable information, while empowering jobseekers.

The Board has oversight responsibility for how DavidsonWorks spends federal, state and local funding. Because this Board consists of local business people and citizens, it prioritizes funding based upon local priorities, which makes the DavidsonWorks system an effective and efficient use of dollars.
